My Guys
I love talking on the phone to old friends. I now live three hours away from all of them and it gets so lonely sometimes. *sigh* I usually call people on Sundays, but I did it on Friday this week. I really needed a verbal hug.
I talked to my uncle, Curtis, and his partner Hal. (Or as I call them: Aunt Curtis and Uncle Hal) They are the sweetest dears. They are the most sane people in my family and totally supportive of me. I love them to death! They are so much fun … they both get on the phone at the same time and we’re all about to pee our pants before the conversation is over … 🙂
Then I called my old buddy Mitch. I worked with him at my first graphics job. He is now 52 years old. Both of his children from his previous marriage are older than I am. He was the grumpy old bastard in the company, but I stood my ground and fought back with him. It endeared me to him … he told everyone he loved that I had spunk to be so young. (At the time, 19) We’ve been together ever since. We go to the beach together at least five or six times a year. Until this year I’ve watched the SuperBowl with him and his kids. He is such a dear, though a bit looney sometimes. I just love him to pieces. 🙂
I know I am really lucky to have these guys in my life. I only wish they were closer. *sigh* Okay, enough of that … next subject …
Its wonderful having good friends, especially when you need that “verbal hug” 🙂 Sounds like you’ve found some very special people!
