Quote of the Day
“This place certainly reeks of hospitality and good cheer, or maybe it’s this cheese.”
Jean Harlow (1911 – 1937) US actress
Sarcastically referring to Gable’s manners in “Red Dust,” 1932.

Sounds like something woodge would say.
It could’ve been Gable’s breath too. I read once that Vivien Leigh (his co-star in Gone with the Wind) dreaded having to kiss him because of his lack of oral hygiene…
*sniff sniff* (i think it’s the cheese…) 🙂
hah! TRUE STORY… i KID you not…
my great aunt laura (although we called her lauretta because we’re guidos) actually DATED clark gable… it’s so weird.. we have love letters and pictures of them taken by the mediterranean together… although it didn’t last very lobg becasue he was freshly divorced, and yes… had VERY bad manners…
as a matter of fact, the way they met was in a hotel elevator where he made a sexist remark to my great aunt, a feminist hailing from back in the DAY (hee… maybe that’s where i get it from ;-)) and she smacked him. he later sent flowers and a formal dinner invitation to her room in apologies, and the rest was history…
just a couple of factoids y’all probably didn’t know…
well… time for mah little dawgies to git along…
ta ta!
