A few thoughts I’ve had today …

When I got cut off in traffic by Billy Bob Bucktooth and his pickup truck (this ensamble completed by his lovely hound dog on the back), I thought, as I lay on the horn for half a mile: I’ll try being nicer if you’ll try being smarter.

Later when little self-absorbed Homecoming Queen knocked over my Sprite and sent it spilling across my bubble-test form (almost finished, I might add) while giggling, I thought: Any connection between your reality and mine is purely coincidental.  I’m also trying to imagine you with a personality.

When Barney Badass was riding my ass on the way home (though I was doing 15 over the posted speed limit) I thought: I like you. You remind me of when I was young and stupid. I also thought that he is one of the reasons I have uninsured motorists coverage.

His Broken Smile

His broken smile is familiar

I know what he is feeling
Each day plunges him in deeper
And the light dims in his eyes
He loses a little more of himself
To the feeling of hopelessness

Yes, his broken smile is familiar
But haunting all the same

New Subscriber
I’ll be damned!  (yeah, I know … I already am)

There are three new additions to the ‘Xanganites with great taste list’, other wise known as my subscribers. (I’m in a rare fit of cockiness, I’ll be over it soon. Don’t get all wound up.) … *drum roll*

BlueBerries … Xanga’s (from what I’ve seen) youngest and spunkiest member.  Welcome aboard! 🙂

Mitch … A fellow car seranader … I like her already!  She likes Patty Loveless (more points in my book) … this will a blog to watch! 😉

Inspiriation
… I honestly thought she had subscribed ages ago.  Oh, well … she is my pen-pal buddy and a really, truly sweet person.  Her site is full of real-life observations, bits of inspiration and great web site ideas.  Her revolving profile image is always beautiful … 🙂

We all know that water is important but I’ve never seen it written down like this before.

75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. (Likely applies to half world population).  In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger.  Even mild dehydration will slow down one’s metabolism as much as 3%.

One glass of water shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a U-Washington study.

Lack of water is the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.  Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.  A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.

Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.

Are you drinking the amount of water you should every day?

More Weird Stuff About Me
(Like you really needed MORE …)

When I was younger and playing with Barbie and Ken, if I made them kiss or made them … ‘get busy’ … I would sneeze.  This stayed with me later in life and whenever I thought I was going to ‘get busy’ I would sneeze.   It still happens once in a while if things are really unexpected.  Freudians … explain this!!!
