I’m going to get a glass of water after this … *shudders*


Did you know … Coca-Cola


  • In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the truck to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.


  • You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and it will be gone in two days.


  • To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and……Let the “real thing” sit for one hour, then flush clean.


  • The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.


  • To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a crumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.


  • To clean corrosion from car battery terminals:  Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.


  • To loosen a rusted bolt: Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.


  • To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, And run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. (I’m just guessing, but, doesn’t Coke also stain clothes?)


  • Coke will also clean road haze from your windshield.


  • The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid.  Its pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about 4 days.


  • To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck must use the Hazardous material place cards reserved for Highly corrosive materials.


  • The distributors of Coke have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years!

      I can say with an almost absolute degree of certainty that Wilshak and I are the foremost experts on Coca-Cola in all of Xanga. That’s because we both worked for The World of Coca-Cola in Atlanta and it was precisely our jobs to be experts.

      It may be true that Coke will do all these things; Pepsi and any other cola, all being essentially the same chemically, would do the same. I don’t know about anyone else, but I don’t drink beverages that have been out for hours, much less days, so I’m really not concerned about what they’ll accomplish over that length of time. (One particular guest commented that she heard Diet Coke would turn to formaldehyde if left in the sun for several days… and we would think, your point is…?)

      I could go on, but I think I’ll reserve an entry on my own blog for this… 🙂

      I wish I’d heard some of this when I was working at the World of Coca Cola Museum in Atlanta….I could have entertained the guests with it who were waiting in the line, or have used it  when leading VIP tours.   😉   I’ll let you know if it helps with my toilet cleaning or not. 🙂

      I was there for about two years from July 1999 -July 2001.  Jason from about April 2000 -July 2001.  This is sort of coincidental, but our manager there e-mailed me today that we could “name our price” if we came back.  We were wondering what the price range was?  😉  Kennesaw University there is supposed to have a top “professional writing ” program..so, who knows?
