Quote of the Day

My illusions didn’t have anything to do with being a fine actress. I knew how third rate I was. I could actually feel my lack of talent, as if it were cheap clothes I was wearing inside. But, my God, how I wanted to learn, to change, to improve!

Things I Don’t Understand

So I saw this story online today … it was rather sad.  This man died and was in the house rotting away for FOUR years before anyone found him.  He had neighbors, too … close by … but no family or friends visited in four years.  The house was sold due to back taxes and the new owner found the guy in the living room.

I’m thinking to myself, Self … this couldn’t happen to me.  The people of Xanga would send out a search party if I went four days without posting.

Whew.

I read the words tremorously
Flipping my curls in my fingers
A sudden start
Almost pulling out a tendril
What powerful ideas are there

Your words like a cold blast
From the freezer
While I search for Ben & Jerry’s
Though the heat of your words
Flushes my cheeks
And makes my ears turn red

The fan gets turned up a notch
The level of the tea in my glass
Lowers rather dramatically
The straw bobs up and down
Waiting for another sip
To cool my parched mouth

Those words seem so pointed
Are they meant for the masses
Meant for someone of
Your imagination
Or meant for … no … it can’t be

Oh that I could do justice
In a return of words to you
I guess this quick rhyme
Will have to make do
Until I can rid my mind
Of your own swirling thoughts

Quote of the Day

I want to grow old without face-lifts…I want to have the courage to be loyal to the face I have made. Sometimes I think it would be easier to avoid old age, to die young, but then you’d never complete your life, would you? You’d never wholly know yourself.

Quote of the Day

The difference between false memories and true ones is the same as for jewels: it is always the false ones that look the most real, the most brilliant.  — Salvador Dali
