Art of the Day Vincent van Gogh (1853 – 1890) “What makes people the world over stand in line for van Gogh is not that they will see beautiful pictures [but] that in an indefinable way they will come away feeling better human beings. And that is exactly what van Gogh hoped for.” This week is dedicated to mslady, my 175th subber. Please click on the image for the larger version. It shows great detail!

We are just leaving beers
Thank you, We_Luv. Beer goes well with art!
The painting reminds me of something the Dallas Museum of Art has. They have a program through which they bring kids from the inner city into the museum and the van they pick them up in says “Gogh Van” on the side of it. I love it.
Beer goes well with art? Hmmm… maybe I’ll start a new hobby?
Gaz’s Drunken Scrawls…
Yes, it might just work…!
(The painting is gorgeous, by the way. Here – take some Eprops.)

Thanks for the tip: it does look better when enhanced. It’s a very intriguing painting. Good work, swirling!
I’m sorry but I do not see how you may gather all that from a painting. Perhaps if you know his biography and you are remembering his life.
ah yes…….van gogh…..one of my favorites.

I need to learn to read less quickly. I spent a few seconds wondering what sort of parody Starry Night Over the Phone was.
