a bit about drinks
I made two gallons of sweet tea today. It was something that I used to do on a regular basis, but I had fallen out of the habit. Today, I just got in the mood for it.
Sweet iced tea was something I could not find while traveling through DC. Anytime you got tea, if it was cold it was NOT sweetened. And we all know that artificial sweeteners are not a viable substitute when partaking of real-honest-to-God tea.
Also seemingly rare up North is Mountain Dew. I did not find at in ANY restaurants until I arrived back near the NC/VA border.
And NO, I do NOT want Sprite – it has no caffeine. And NO, I do NOT want MelloYello – it doesn’t taste the same. And NO, I do NOT want Pepsi or Coke or any other carbonated beverage. It HAS to be Mt. Dew or else I drink water.
Unless you have sweet tea?
Well, it’s Jasmine tea for me, or Dr Pepper — Lise
heh heh, when i was up in northern ireland they’d look at you funny if you wanted *iced* tea, never mind sweet. but my favorite is bojangles sweet tea, which is closer to syrup than an actual drinkable liquid. mmm.
I feel sort of the same way about Dr. Pepper. I miss malts the most though.
I never really thought about it, but yeah it is really hard to get Mountain Dew from as a fountain drink.
cheerwine is the best and you can’t find it anywhere but NC
