This is perhaps Monet’s best known work of art.  He painted a wide variety of subjects, though.  Tomorrow I’ll show another example to give you a better idea of his range.  But for today, let’s all pretend we are here, in the pond with the water lilies.

Quit splashing, Herbie!  Why is the water warm near Ralf?  And of course, GudKarma is skinny dipping.

There will be a small series of Monet’s dedicated to our favorite “Lily” of all – azure_mariposa. Our thoughts and best wishes are with you, dear.

  1. It’s a beautiful scene. The smoothness of the water giving the illusion of great depth due to the reflection of the sky… Too inviting!

GERONIMOOOOO!!! *Gaz bombs into the water, splashing everybody*

Thanks for joining the webring. Watcha drinking?

  2. Gaz: Since it is before 12:01, sweet tea.  After noon, Newcastle.

  3. hmmm… the painting looks a little blurry… (someone fetch me my glasses!) did that Monet fella make it blurry on purpose or something??

[P.S. Re: your comment on my boobs blog, Sandra Bullock is the perfect example, IMHO, of a woman who has no need for anything more than the “Lazy River Float” she’s got. Good golly. I’d clean out that woman’s toejam if she let me…]
