Quick Update

Swirly is going to get a pedicure and massage because she damn well feels like it.  After that, then off to dinner and shopping.  After her return home, if her brain is not converted to mush, she will return to her vice, the computer, and post some of the things she wrote today instead of taking notes in political science class.

Something to think about:  Who do you consider to be the most charasmatic public figures, past or present?

Toodles! {v}

  1. The most charismatic public figures are not often the loud, boisterious ones.  I’d say the physicist Richard Feynmann would be right up there with the likes of Einstine.  As for sports figures, I’d say Micheal Johnson has a lot of charisma, along with being a bit full of himself (I’ll never forgive the Gold shoes at the 96 games.)  Hmm, politics… I’d say Good Old Teddy Roosevelt.  There was a character if there ever was one!

  2. You should have won, Argyle is boring.

  3. I would have to say Anne Richards, former Gov. of Texas.  She was just one of those people who inspired everyone around her regardless of their politics.

  4. go pamper yourself, honey…you deserve it!! {v}

    charismatic public figure? marilyn monroe leaps to mind…

  5. I had Teddy Roosevelt in mind even before I read that Joe feels the same way.  Jimmy Carter is up there, too.

  6. Hmmm…Marilyn Monroe, Mike Myers…Ross Perot

    Who really takes the politicos seriously anyway?

    Mitch

  7. In my mind, the person who comes closest to filling both the religious definition and the secular definition because of his ability to perform miracles granted to him by a higher authority and his rare personal quality that aroused fervent popular devotion and enthusiasm was the late Frank Perdue, the chicken guy. Didn’t he perform miracles with chickens?

  8. Massage sounds good! My Answer, John Lennon…my dead idol…

  9. Without a doubt…

    The Nature Boy Ric Flair

  10. Wow … BIG variety here!

    As far as men go, I think of Jack Nicholson, Bill Clinton (50,000,000 women can’t be wrong!) and Sean Connery.

    Women: Marilyn Monroe and Princess Di.

    (PS. Manicure and massage were faboo!  My toenails are harlot red!  I’m such a little hussy … ;-))

  11. I had decided on Ric Flair even before I opened this, but the Flair pre Bischoff screwing him to make him sit out for ages Flair, not the recent one.  Whooooo!

  12. Wooooooooooooooo! 😉

  13. hmmmm.

  14. I didn’t know that, GK.  New wish list items, woo-hoo!

  15. charismatic…hmmm…will ponder this for a while.

  16. Bill Clinton was my second choice, and Rosanne / Rosie O’Donnell tied for cheesy third.

  17. Ross … you are so silly! 😛

  18. If charisma is personal integrity, selflessness and just being a fabulous human being…then after me I’d choose Nelson Mandela. Amazing man – similar to Gandhi I guess. Both great selfless men who could/can rock up to any place and have an adoring crowd. (In a different way to N*Stink.)

    Nyz xo:-)

  19. My favorite English Teacher in High School (Mr. Hayes) and the smartest man I have ever known, a REAL Poli Sci prof – Peter Lupsha.

  20. BTW, you DO deserve lots ‘n’ lots o’ pampering!

  21. Men: Johnny Cash, he rules.

    Women: Susan Sarandon, she rocks.
