update

Back home for the day from the Christmas tour. It was great to get to see all of the family, but it is good to be back home! But only for a day … and then we are off to Raleigh for a couple of days and then back again.

I have to get cracking on the house … we are hosting the Art Geek Holiday Get Together here on the 5th. I have a lot of cooking and cleaning to do, wait – WE have a lot of cooking and cleaning to do. I’m not letting Gray out of it that easily!

I hope that you all have a great New Year’s Eve and I send you each the best of wishes for a terrific new year! Be careful and safe!

PS.
I’ll be back around the time that school starts back, on Jan. 8th, when I will be taking on the following:
Advanced Printmaking, Intro to Ceramics, Composition II, Computer Graphics II, Modern Art History and Social Psychology. Fun, fun, fun!

DC was great and I’m making a stop here at the home base before going on the Christmas Tour through Sanford and Greensboro.

Gray is stuck at work today with a client that is under 24 hour supervision due to a history of drug use. He works with people who have survived tramatic brain injuries and the work is often demanding. This is just a sucky time for it to be demanding. We are supposed to be on the road already for his mom’s … instead I am sitting here at the apartment while he is half an hour away … blah.

It is cold and rainy here … makes me thankful for the great weather that we had in DC. I hope it stops raining before we get on the road. Hmmmm …

The Google Game
“evil grin crept across”

As the front of the Nova slid up next to me, an evil grin crept across my face and I slowly raised my eyebrow and turned my head to look at him. It had been a long time since I was passenger-door-to-driver’s-side-door with my parole officer and I was ready to test my Pinto’s endurance.

With Metallica ringing in her ears, an evil grin crept across her face as she reached for her inner pocket. It was, indeed, time for a doobie. In this crowd, even if caught, she could blame it all on the devil.

He recognized the figure immediately and an evil grin crept across his craggy face.

An evil grin crept across her face as she shifted deeper under the covers. Ahhh – the joys of staying up past her bedtime! And no one would ever suspect her of stealing the Batman flashlight to read with. But at that moment there was a tap on the window. A horned figure stood just outside with a none-too-amused look on his face.

An evil grin crept across Kirk’s features, then turned to hot anger. Why did his show have to be the one to be canceled?!? It was all Tracey’s fault. Stupid eating disorder. He was a teen idol at one time and all of that had been sabotaged by a co-worker who was a finicky eater. Curses!

An evil grin crept across Helen’s face when she saw Nick’s features go slack. She’d known all along that he was a slack-jawed-yokel, and now his lack of mandible was giving it all away.

An evil grin crept across her beautiful face, and it caused Lance to smile as well; for a different reason. “I’m gettin’ laid, I’m gettin’ laid!”

An evil grin crept across her face as she started to speak, “Justin, I bumped into Willie Nelson in Vegas and he wanted me to tell you to give him back his bandanas,” Jen exhaled satisfied.

Finals are over and I have a month off from school. A trip to DC is in the works and Gray and I have lots of stops on the Christmas tour to make. It will be nice to catch a breath before diving back into college again.

I found out Friday night that my biological father died. I struck me rather oddly – there was more impact there than I had expected. I’d never met him or been shown a picture of him even. All I really knew about him was his name. I searched through the local paper’s online obits and found out more about him in ten minutes than I’ve learned in almost 26 years. How sad is that?

I’m off to make a list of art galleries in the DC area to check out next week. Any suggestions?
