Test Taking
I took a test for my History 115 (World Civs since 1500) class today. I hope to God that I passed it. I got in there and blanked out. Bolivar? What did he do again? Geez …
Does this happen to anyone else? I mean, I listen in class, take faboo notes, reread the material, study and as soon as the test paper hits my desk … nothing.
Arrgh …
You do everything that I don’t. I barely go to class, and do all my study in the week before the exam. It works for me usually because I thrive under pressure.
Maybe your notes are too good. Maybe you take so many notes that you cloud the most important stuff and your brain just doesn’t know what to think about. Learn the basics and practice expanding on your ideas – eg a practice test. Write down Bolivar’s name and start jotting all the stuff that you know. If you write down stuff that is irrelevant then you know you’re taking too many notes!
Helpful? I dunno…give it a shot.
Nyz xo
I just never study and then do pretty good on the test. While everybody else sleeps I catch up on some ZZZZ’s works for me, but our school has low standards so I’m third in my class. I wouldn’t stress so much about the notes and I’d just try to isten to the professor more. That way you can concentrate more on what he’s sayin and stil have some notes. Listening works best for me. Good luck. Hope ya did good on the exam.

Yes, it definitely happens to other people! I hope you did well on the test!
Simon B.? Blanking out happens…you’ll be ok.
Been there, done that, and survived. Happens to the all of us every once in a while. But then you just go wander around your brain to find the answers, because there are down there somewhere. You haven’t really forgotten the information, you’ve just forgotten where you put it. Right?
*comforts* I would venture to say it has happened to just about everyone at some point. Just hang in there, you did your best.
